We figured that it was about time we put up a few pictures of our place. It's still not all finished, but it's starting to look a whole lot more like home, so here's what we have so far:

The office and Tyler's massive computer set up... I'm sure you can tell it's still a work in progress.

My washing machine. I don't have a picture of the dryer, sorry!

The bed. Just got it last week.

Our kitchen:

Our entry way:

The couch (2/3 of it anyway! The rest was too big to fit up the stairs, so we're having it delivered in two parts):

As you can tell, we need drapes in the living room!

There we go! I'll have to post more as we finish it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Hectic Holidays

Sorry it's been such a long time since our last post. Things have been so crazy the past few weeks it's hard to know where to begin.

After Thanksgiving, Tyler and I went up to Midway for a quiet weekend alone at his family condo. We went up Friday night and had an enjoyably quiet evening. The next morning, I was cooking breakfast when Tyler got a phonecall that neither of us will ever forget.

It was Jordan Buttars, our brother-in-law Brian's younger brother. He told Tyler that Brian had been in a terrible motocross accident, and that they were going to life-flight him to the hospital, but that it already looked like he hadn't made it.

The minutes after seemed like hours as Tyler made the phone call to his family, including Brian's wife, Collette.

Since then, the family has been mourning the loss of Brian. He died at the young age of 31, leaving behind two children, Cole 3, and Hallie 2 and a wife that was 8 months pregnant.

It's been a sombering experience for everyone, but the beautiful thing about it is that it's really pulled the family together.

Collette and her two little ones (well, I guess three as of yesterday!) moved into Tyler's parents house about a week before we moved out. Her 3-year-old, Cole, would climb into bed with us early in the morning and chatter away. He's such a little stud!

Last Monday we moved into our condo. That same night, Tyler and a couple of his brothers were fortunate enough to take little Cole to the Jazz game, where he got to meet some members of the team.

It's been so nice to have our own place! We've gotten our couch (well, part of it), kitchen table, bed set, and washer & dryer within a week of moving in. We are definitely blessed to be able to have such a nice little place so early in our marriage.

Anyway, so that's the update. Hopefully I'll blog before Christmas, but if I don't, Happy Holidays!

Ouch

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a great dinner at Tyler's. Unfortunately, earlier that morning Tyler hurt his neck playing football and spent the rest of the day either in major pain or being totally out of it because he took a muscle relaxer.

Those are the sweet bed sheets we have on the bed while the other ones are boxed up ready to move, which will hopefully be sometime next week (yeah, I know, we keep saying that don't we?).

Well that's about all for us. Aside from Tyler's little injury, we had a fantastic holiday!

I guess it's my turn

How fast time flies! I can't believe we've been married for 16 days already. What an awesome beginning we've had so far. We had perfect weather at the wedding, and everything seemed to turn out just as it was supposed to for the rest of that day. Our honeymoon was wonderful. On the cruise we were able to go to Cozumel, Belize, Costa Maya, & Guatemala. After we docked back into Tampa, we rented a car and drove to Orlando to have some more fun at Sea World, Universal Studios, and then we finished off the trip by going to all four kingdoms at Disney World. It was a blast, but we were definitely ready to get back home by the last day of the trip.

Like Ty mentioned, we're hoping to move into our condo on Monday. I'll have to upload some pictures of it when we do.

Well that seems to be about all. I'll try to find some time either today or tomorrow to post a couple wedding photos.

Couch shopping and all that Jazz

We're back in Salt Lake after our loooong honeymoon and we're trying to get settled. We spent so much of yesterday doing laundry we thought it would be a good idea to buy a washer and dryer. We got a really nice set for a good deal.

Today we've been couch shopping and taking care of other fun stuff getting ready to (hopefully) move into our condo.

Rove Pest Control had their recruitment dinner at the Jazz game tonight so Tessie and Lenny let us have their tickets on the 10th row. Thanks guys!

We're almost home!

We're at 38,000 feet and about an hour outside of Salt Lake. That's us about 2 minutes ago on the airplane. We had to wake up at 3:30 to catch out flight so we're both pretty tired. I just took the second picture out the window. It looks much colder than when we left. I think I'm gonna try to add one more picture of salt lake if I can get one before they tell us to turn off our toys.

An Incredible Ride

We just finished at Islands of Adventure and we're now waiting in line for the Twister experience. And now we're out of twister heading to Revenge of the Mummy. The parks aren't crowded at all and I think we'll have time to do everything we want.

First Blog Post

We've been married for 10 days now and I figured it's way past time for our first blog entry. We're still on our honeymoon and we're just hanging out in our hotel in Orlando. It is Marriott Grande Vista. The complex is huge and really nice. I might add some pictures later. Probably not though. Thanks for reading. Please comment so we know if it is worth posting things.
