I suppose it's about time for an update, eh? Well, life has slowed down a bit since the end of last year, so we are just getting settled into our new place and enjoying life as newlyweds. I've started working at US Novelty with Tyler and his family, and I actually enjoy it a lot more than I thought I would. I was worried we'd get sick of each other, but so far that seems to not be the case.
I've been begging Tyler to bring his lovesac to the condo ever since I found out he had one in storage. I love those things! So yesterday, he went out there to drop some things off and brought it back with his dad. We went out and bought a new cover for it, and about an hour later I was happily running and jumping on to it while Tyler laughed at me.
We got our awesome TV a few weeks ago too. A family friend (practically family to me!) was nice enough to give us a 63" widescreen TV for free. We love it :)
So, that's about all I've got to say! Until next time!

The Big 20
Happy birthday to me! As of last Friday the 15th, I turned the big 20. It was a fun day. I woke up and Tyler was sweet enough to offer me breakfast in bed, but asked me if I'd still help him cook..... :) I just laughed and we cooked breakfast together. He went and got me some balloons and my gift, a nice pair of new sunglasses to replace the ones I left in the bathroom at SeaWorld.
Later that evening, we made plans to eat with my mom and her boyfriend because my mom and I share birthdays. Unfortunately, he was close to 30 minutes late picking her up, which made them 45 minutes late to dinner, so we decided to just go do our own thing. We ended up going to Starbucks for my favorite drink, and then on Saturday we went to PF Chang's for a yummy (day-after) birthday dinner.
I got Tyler to do something pretty funny for my birthday:
That's about it for my birthday blog! Have a great week everyone!

Sledding Part 2

Sledding!
Some time around October Jared bought a couple of old snow mobiles. We picked them up from getting tuned up on New Year's Eve and today we brought them up to the cabin.
It's been fun and tiring. One of the sleds doesn't start very well so it has worn us out getting it going. The cabin is getting warm and we have a nice fire going.
In just a bit we're going to try and get the sleds started again. Here's some pictures of the scenery!
Update: We tried to get the sleds started and could only get one started. The other one is covered in plastic and still sitting up at the cabin. We left a little earlier than we were planning on because of the trouble with the machines.
Jared and I went down first. I dropped Jared off and went to pick up my dad. I brought my dad back down and went back up to turn around and came back down. Some prick in an F350 backed up into the spot next to us and left like 8 inches for us to back out. There was no way for us to back out without getting in an accident so we had to pull forward into a snow bank.
We spent the next 2 hours or so digging out under the wheels, putting chains on to have them come off before putting them on again and more digging. Some awesome guy with a winch was finally able to pull us out. Thanks guy. And a special thanks to the inconsiderate prick in the 350 for boxing us in like that!

We figured that it was about time we put up a few pictures of our place. It's still not all finished, but it's starting to look a whole lot more like home, so here's what we have so far:

The office and Tyler's massive computer set up... I'm sure you can tell it's still a work in progress.

My washing machine. I don't have a picture of the dryer, sorry!

The bed. Just got it last week.
Our kitchen:

Our entry way:

The couch (2/3 of it anyway! The rest was too big to fit up the stairs, so we're having it delivered in two parts):

As you can tell, we need drapes in the living room!

There we go! I'll have to post more as we finish it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Hectic Holidays
Sorry it's been such a long time since our last post. Things have been so crazy the past few weeks it's hard to know where to begin.
After Thanksgiving, Tyler and I went up to Midway for a quiet weekend alone at his family condo. We went up Friday night and had an enjoyably quiet evening. The next morning, I was cooking breakfast when Tyler got a phonecall that neither of us will ever forget.
It was Jordan Buttars, our brother-in-law Brian's younger brother. He told Tyler that Brian had been in a terrible motocross accident, and that they were going to life-flight him to the hospital, but that it already looked like he hadn't made it.
The minutes after seemed like hours as Tyler made the phone call to his family, including Brian's wife, Collette.
Since then, the family has been mourning the loss of Brian. He died at the young age of 31, leaving behind two children, Cole 3, and Hallie 2 and a wife that was 8 months pregnant.
It's been a sombering experience for everyone, but the beautiful thing about it is that it's really pulled the family together.
Collette and her two little ones (well, I guess three as of yesterday!) moved into Tyler's parents house about a week before we moved out. Her 3-year-old, Cole, would climb into bed with us early in the morning and chatter away. He's such a little stud!
Last Monday we moved into our condo. That same night, Tyler and a couple of his brothers were fortunate enough to take little Cole to the Jazz game, where he got to meet some members of the team.
It's been so nice to have our own place! We've gotten our couch (well, part of it), kitchen table, bed set, and washer & dryer within a week of moving in. We are definitely blessed to be able to have such a nice little place so early in our marriage.
Anyway, so that's the update. Hopefully I'll blog before Christmas, but if I don't, Happy Holidays!
